Germany

So just got back from the most amazing trip :)

After flying into New York City Shannon and i were jet lagged and needed at least four cups of coffee to keep us on our feet as we waited for our hotel room to be ready. Thinking we would be staying in a normal room we couldn't wait to just get inside and fall to sleep after our 12 hour flight.
Shannon's friend showed up and our room was ready. After checking in at the Executive desk *should have been a sign, we headed up to our room on the 43rd floor of the Hilton where a suit and chocolate covered strawberries awaited us. Let's just say Ali is the best!
a quick nap and we strode down to Serendipities where there was an hour and a half wait. After putting our names down we decide to go and see 500 days of summer, a movie that is absolutely fabulous and right up my alley.
showing back up at serendipities about twenty minutes late i was sure that our reservation would be cancelled, but incredibly luckily the host got us the top table right next to the window and we ate delicious food in possibly the cutest restaurant.
sadly i did not get to buy the darling cupcake necklace i had been eyeing downstairs because of the crowd.

the next day we awoke to walk the city and then we had to cater to my cupcake desires and went to buy me a cupcake when all of a sudden shannon stops and points and there, just five feet away from us stood the absolutely gorgeous Rachel McAdams. She was filming in a beautiful bage dress and i can't wait to see whatever movie it was
we then stopped and got a red velvet cupcake with the most delicious cream cheese frosting that any of us had ever consumed.

Germany:
Berlin was the most beautiful city in the world. Every thing was nice neutral or soft colors and there were flowers in the windows and cobble stone roads that were easy to walk upon.

The first day we arrived we waited for Michael to arrive and after twenty minutes of waiting got a weird feeling. Checking the email he had sent we realized that the dates had gotten mixed up and he wouldn't be arriving until the next day! We asked for a room in the hostel that night and the man said that there were no rooms open.
Afraid and stranded in a foreign country shannon and i were frightened but the man at the hostel called around and found us two rooms up the road.
We failed at ordering coffee and treats that afternoon and that evening found a nice Organic food store called Biomarkt. The amazing thing about Germany is that organic food is supported by the government and so is cheap and delicious. We ate a meal of bread and cheese and bananas and apples and pretzles. it was divine.

After michael showed up things got a lot easier and we walked the city from top to bottom. We must have walked at least 7 miles a day exploring all the corners of the city. It was beautiful and every one dressed in classy neutral colored clothing with stylish athletic shoes and rode bikes around the city.

I think my favorite part of the trip was the picnic we had in the Berlin park. It is the most beautiful park ever to be found. There are wild trees and big open spaces where one can ride their bike or jog or just walk and then sit and read or picnic or just relax. We walked through the park the first day and a few days later we raced our bicycles through the open field, picnicked and made daisy chains to wear around our necks. It was a wonderful day.

there is too much more but all in all i am so glad to have gone on the trip

and then hopefully dancing or watching movies

July 10th

It was watermelon day at work and i was chosen to be designated watermelon slicer :)
hehe perfect job for me since i got to grind ono ice cold watermelon as well as play with the kiddies
some of them ate more than i could (and more than all the other teachers)
after work i went for a nice jog around Kaneohe shopping center and then took a much needed and very refreshing shower
hoping to catch the 7 30 showing of Bruno with friends!

Annie's Birthday

After a really hard day at work
it was nice to go out to eat for Annie's birthday. Annie is possible the sweetest and best girl in the world. i was sad that i was so exhausted that i had trouble staying awake but it was worth it to see the birthday girl. She tried paying for the whole meal but of course we would have none of that! A dinner of $21 at the macaroni grill should not be payed for by one person.
Julia sent a picture of herself so that she could be with Annie on her birthday...typical haha As you can see i was confused at how Julia got all the way to Hawaii from Utah


After we ate we all took a group shot. it was nice to see many of the class of '08 together :)

Monday Madness

Yesterday Cienna and I went to Tahitian. please keep in mind that we have not been in ages but any way at the end of class i started feeling sick so i knew i had to book it to the drinking fountain and bathroom.
the feeling that i was feeling was a black out nausea that i have experienced a few times before

anyway on the way out a woman in a kimono stopped me to ask what time the class ended and i was in so much agony that i didn't understand at first and mumbled something inaudible.

after gulping down water from the drinking fountain as much as i could through nauseation and blackouts i finally knew that i was going to throw up so i raced to the bathroom as fast as i could. fumbling with the keys because my sight was going in and out and because there were three keys on the chain i was unable to find the right key and was about to fall to the ground when a nicely dressed woman walked up and asked if i needed her to let me in.

I tried to explain that i wasn't just a fumbling idiot and that i was having trouble because of the three keys and she said it was no problem and let me into the bathroom. Trying to make it look like i was in a desperate dash for the toilet (even though i was) i made into one of the stalls and immediately threw up.

The poor woman who had let me in must have been horrified.

Long story short cienna found me on the floor of the lobby crumpled into a ball.

Once I was feeling better and cienna had driven me home...almost like a designated driver
i was ready to be with friends again so we all headed out to a house where there was fun friends and plenty of games!
once again a beautiful day

Callaghan and Mack two cute twin boys

July 4th

Just got back from spending the night on the north shore with the best group of prehty aunties in the whole world.
Following a run around Kaneohe I baked cupcakes and star spam musubi




Kathy packed us a cooler full of treats as well and cienna brought triscuits and brooke had a wonderful watermelon
We sat and talked story and it was super fun to just sit and play with the dog.
For dinner we ate Teri Burgers *Rachel gave told us once again that the nicest thing anyone has ever done for our friends is Shaun asking aunty kathy to prom on a teri burger. it was very cute but maybe not the nicest...
We roasted marshmellows and made my favorite smores. I also got burned by flying embers...fun. and satan's chariot the giant bird was flying around us just like last year, but i he kept a safe distance this time around.

We went to sleep in our giant tent.
i of course woke up at 2 in the morning having to pee. Rachel Halevi rolled on both me and mikayla and Katherine spoke sweet words of "hell yeah i'd hook up with him" in her sleep.

waking up we ate ONO banana pancakes with lilikoi buttah and sausages and watermelon and papaya before heading to Waimea where there were dolphins jumping and turtles and freaky fish that flew over us. We had floaties and rachel and Jessica proceeded to have a treading contast. Rachel says she just floats...they then challenged each other to a race...well actually were prompted by me and Annie and the last thing that was heard was Rachel with

"Frick you I'm better than you!."

yup it happened.

after driving to cienna's house we watched House Bunny
all in all a very good 4th

late.
